Our Story — Where It Began

Sydney born and bred, Andrew and Debbie first joined forces in the late ’80s in tourism management, relocating to Queensland a couple of years later when headhunted by an independent Sydney property owner. Originally based in Brisbane operating the iconic Olims Hotel, numerous acquisitions followed within the first year on the Gold Coast — which became the base for Park Regis Hotels and Resorts Group, developed and launched by Debbie and Andrew across four properties along Australia’s east coast.
A highly successful term operating 650 rooms with food, beverage and conferencing facilities across the four properties saw the group grow international markets, set record occupancies and financial results, and earn industry recognition and awards. The next chapter was imminent.
The Next Phase — Success Came Naturally
In the mid ’90s, Andrew and Debbie took different professional paths — Andrew joining a start-up in the alternate currency industry, and Debbie moving into project management.
The next 30 years saw Andrew move throughout the Bartercard and BPS Group in senior executive roles spanning sales, marketing, international operations, franchising, training and leadership. Working with over 50,000 SMEs, franchisees and international licensees across 14 countries, Andrew became a figurehead of the group — known for his ability to get results through building people and high-performance environments.
Debbie began her project management career with Mincom, the Australian enterprise software company specialising in asset management and ERP solutions for mining, public infrastructure, defence, and oil and gas across more than 40 countries. Moving quickly through the ranks, she received multiple awards recognising her outstanding results, and prior to the company’s sale held an executive-level role, highly regarded for her ability to lead people and deliver.
Having worked alongside project managers in both the private and public sectors, Debbie was approached by the Queensland Government — contracting through Savvy Resources at senior project leadership level across numerous major programs, a trusted engagement spanning years.
In the early 2000s, Savvy Resources was created and led by Debbie — contracting key roles and resources to private and public projects in the project management field. With numerous high-level implementations for government and a major global travel company behind her, Debbie is one of the most highly sought-after professionals in her field globally.
